Ready-mix and precast concrete EN 15804+A2 EPDs
Mix-design-based functional unit (1 m³, by strength class); CEM type, aggregate source, water/cement ratio and admixtures are all inputs. Upstream cement records propagate automatically into the concrete model.
Impact hotspots
A1–A3 — Production inputs
- Cement share dominates GWP at 75-90%
- Aggregate transport distance (local aggregate use is critical)
A4 — Transport to site
- A4 — transport to site; proximity of consumer to readymix plant
C3 — End of life
- C3 — concrete recycling (CDW reuse as aggregate)
EN 15804+A2 modules
| Module | Modelling note |
|---|---|
| A1—A3 | Cement, aggregate, water, admixtures and batching plant energy. |
| A4—A5 | Ready-mix: factory-to-site distance critical (typically <50 km radius). |
| B1 | Carbonation (CO₂ uptake) is an optional declaration. |
| C1—C4 | Demolition energy + waste transport + crushing; recycle vs. landfill split. |
| D | Credit for secondary use as recycled aggregate. |
